24 Hour Monitoring

Premier Communications partners with EMERgency24 to provide you with a cost-effective monitoring solution for your fire alarm and security systems. Monitoring of fire alarm system is required by the state Fire Marshal except under special circumstances. In addition, adding 24-hour monitoring to your system will provide the peace of mind of added protection to your property in your absence. With a monitoring service, you can rest assured that emergencies will be responded to immediately—even outside of normal business hours. These events can be more than a fire: they can include power failures, system access outside of normal hours, abnormal temperatures, and more. In addition, you have the ability to establish a call list of people that are notified when an event occurs.

Your alarm system is comprised of a control panel, Keypad, activation devices and detection devices such as door/window contacts, motion detectors, smoke/ gas/ heat detectors, and video cameras, among other things. This system is installed, and your account information is maintained by your Service Department.

Activation devices are items that trigger alarms and include panic buttons, emergency pull cords, pull stations, personal emergency response pendants and fire, police, and medical emergency buttons on your Keypad. The alarm system does have to be armed to activate these devices.

Alarm System Users, including Subscribers and Party Call Members, most frequently interact with the Keypad, from which the system can be Armed/Disarmed and Alarm Signals can be canceled, if the device is programmed in that manner. These functions require a Keypad Passcode, which is programmed by your Service Department.

Additionally, you must establish an Alarm Monitoring Center Passcode. Both Keypad and Alarm Monitoring Center Passcodes MAY BE THE SAME. A Stress Code cannot be the same as the Alarm Monitoring Center Passcode. The Alarm Monitoring Center will not follow your instructions without a correct passcode.

If you provide an incorrect Alarm Monitoring Center Passcode during a notification call, the EMERgency 24 operator will say, “Thank you” and proceed to dispatch Authorities.

After installation, be sure you receive training to fully maximize the use of your alarm system. Please also make sure all users of the system are familiar with its operation. Premier Communications is able to complete a Certificate of a Monitored Alarm System, which, if you provide to your insurance company may garner you a discount.
